State Fund for Support of Youth Housing Construction and IOM Will Study the Possibilities for Cooperation

The legislation of Ukraine in the sphere of housing policy is outdated and doesn’t correspond to present-day needs of citizens, that’s why it needs updating with the use of progressive practices of the developed countries. Chairperson of the Fund’s Board Serhii Komnatnyi asserted this during the meeting with the representatives of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

First Deputy Chairperson of the Fund’s Board Ivan Parukh, National Executive Officer of IOM Serhii Shkloda, Liaison Officer Lima Alrokhsy and officer of the international organization Valeria Brakhileva took part in the meeting.

The head of the Fund informed about the directions of the institutions work, having dwelled upon the housing programs being implemented by the State Fund for Support of Youth Housing Construction. It went about program Affordable Housing separately, its results in 2017, when 91 family was provided with their own housing, the renewed conditions and plans for this year.

Under results of the conversation, the parties agreed on defining the possible directions of cooperation that would be directed at assistance to the Ukrainian citizens, first of all, to IDPs in getting by them their own housing. In addition, the housing policy as the migration-constraining factor in Ukraine was outlined.
