The goals of sustainable development of the UN - the way to raise a modern and comfortable state
The State Fund for Support of Youth Housing Construction is cooperating with United Nations institutions to implement the UN Sustainable Development Goals in Ukraine.
The 2030 Sustainable Development Goals are a guideline to action for the countries around the world to put an end to poverty, protect the planet and ensure peace and prosperity for people.
The competence of the The State Fund for Support of Youth Housing Construction as an instrument of state housing policy includes participation in the work on achieving Ukraine Goal 11 "Sustainable development of cities and communities", in particular, defined by the National Report "Sustainable Development Goals - Ukraine" task 11.1 - to ensure housing affordability. In addition to the practical implementation of housing programs, the State Fund is a co-organiser of a number of international events where the mentioned topics have been discussed.
Serhiy Komnatnyy, Chairman of the Board of the State Fund for Support of Youth Housing Construction, is a member of the Interdepartmental Working Group on coordination of implementation processes and monitoring of the sustainable development Goals in Ukraine. This work should contribute to the development and implementation of modern housing programs as a sustainable mechanism for providing housing for the citizens of Ukraine.
Active cooperation with local governments, in particular, the co-creation and implementation of housing programs has been yet another important area of work of the State Fund in the last five years.
In order to develop this cooperation, we invite local governments to get familiarised with the conditions of participation in the leadership program in the field of sustainable development - localisation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in the Eastern Partnership countries of the European Union. The program was developed by the Swedish independent think tank Global Utmaning with the support of the Swedish Institute in cooperation with UNDP offices in Ukraine, Belarus and Georgia.
